Bergen Community College has an exciting leadership opportunity for an Associate Dean, Continuing Education (CE) Health Professions. Through the division leadership team, this position will contribute to the planning, direction and evaluation of continuing education programming including all health professions programs, engaging health professions faculty and administrators to ensure community engagement and successful workforce development in addition to embracing the mission of the College while enhancing and ensuring efficient delivery of services and assuring programs are in compliance with all standards of local, state and federal regulatory agencies. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to developing educational programs to address local and regional trends and workforce demands in a variety of health professions occupations; planning, developing, implementing and evaluating curricula and all educational activities in accordance with division guidelines, ensuring quality control and consistency of data in all related activities; partnering with Deans, Chairs and Student Support Services to articulate and promote clear pathways from non-credit to credit courses, serving as subject matter expert in health professions programming; actively promoting and marketing the benefits of student academic development and the expansion of opportunities for student personal and professional growth; writing and submitting grant proposals and employee partner contracts for funding and workforce partnership opportunities; recruiting, mentoring and evaluating instructional staff; coordinating payroll; reviewing marketing materials; tracking outcomes and performance of the program; preparing reports; managing an annual budget and performing additional duties as assigned.
Required: BA/BS degree required, Master’s Degree in a health professions occupation, administration or education preferred; background in Adult, Continuing or community education desirable. Minimum of 3 years of experience performing environmental scans and needs assessments in health professions. Prior teaching experience preferred. Experience in post-K-12 educational programs in a community college environment desirable. Experience in adult learning; extensive experience in leading healthcare education preferably in a higher education or healthcare setting. Experience with budgets and financial reporting. Experience and demonstrated achievement in developing, marketing, implementing and assessing educational programs. Must have demonstrated leadership and possess a strong level of organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Must be driven to provide excellent customer service with ability to handle inquiries of diverse and multicultural students, staff, faculty and visitors with sensitivity and diplomacy; capacity for developing and sustaining effective relationships with other administrators, personnel, faculty, students, and public. Demonstrates understanding of the community college mission and practices an open door policy. Must have computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of CRM systems is desirable.
