Mail/Stock Clerk

The Mail/Stock Clerk will be responsible for posting, pick-up and delivery of all mail for the College as well as stocking and delivering related supplies and equipment used by the college and maintaining accurate records on all items.  Duties include receiving and sorting incoming, outgoing, and interoffice mail and packages according to postal regulations and unit requirements; delivers and picks up mail and packages throughout the College and three locations; delivers supplies and equipment requisitioned by the College departments; delivers Copy Center and copy paper orders as needed. Assists in loading/unloading trucks and in handling heavy cartons.  Prepares receiving and damage reports. Weighs and stamps or makes arrangements for outgoing mail and packages, operating mail processing machines as necessary. Maintains logs of postage charges, receipt forms, and other records as required. Maintains adequate supply of shipping materials, such as boxes, tape, and labels as well as printed materials and informs Director of any additional supplies needed in a timely manner. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:  High School graduate or equivalent; previous experience working in the Post Office and/or mailroom and/or experience in stock and receiving functions preferred.  Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.  Must be able to read, write and speak English.  Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive in the State of New Jersey.  Must be able to lift 50 pounds.  Must have the ability to work well within a team as well as independently and the ability to operate automatic postage equipment.
