Part-Time Scholarships Assistant (19-28 hours per week)

Bergen Community College has an opportunity for a part-time Scholarships Assistant to work in our Foundation office to provide administrative support to the Foundation team for connecting scholarships to students in need.  As a member of the Foundation team, the Scholarships Assistant will assist with the transition from the current systems into Blackbaud scholarship software module, including assisting with the creation of formal policies/procedures for awarding scholarships and a new access process for students;  will work with donors of scholarships to confirm gifts, verify the intent and update donor information and contact information for each donor; send timely pledge reminders and invoices as necessary; manage semi-annual application and awards process for Foundation scholarships; answer phone and email inquiries from students regarding scholarships; attend Foundation events and professional meetings as assigned; perform additional tasks and duties as assigned.


Qualifications:  High school diploma required. College degree preferred.  Prior experience working with college financial aid, scholarship management, or banking systems preferred as well as experience working with culturally diverse populations preferred.  Familiarity with Google Suite office software (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, etc.); familiarity with Blackbaud suite of software products, including Raisers Edge (fundraising CRM), Financial Edge (accounting) and Grantmaking (Scholarship management) a plus.  Ability to work with large amounts of data from various sources; online research experience preferred. Detail oriented individual, with strong organizational skills; ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges; excellent communication skills to correspond with donors and students as well as with internal staff, faculty and department heads; excellent customer service skills required.
