Reader Scribe /Specialist Testing Proctor (Part-time Position)

The part-time Reader Scribe will support all accommodated academic testing requirements of the College within the Office of Testing Services. In addition, the part-time Reader Scribe will support all standard academic testing requirements of the College within the Office of Testing Services.  Responsibilities will include proctoring and administering a variety of placement tests (Accuplacer) and classroom tests to diverse population of individuals, including but not limited to those with various disabilities; assisting students, faculty and staff with inquiries, including but not limited to exam integrity as it relates to accessibility; assist with scheduling of all accommodated testing appointments, activities and services in addition to having ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and diplomacy; performing office administration operations and clerical duties including typing, filing and answering phones; performing special projects and additional duties as assigned.



Required: Associates Degree required, a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Must have excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google suite; experience with Datatel/Colleague is a plus.  Familiarity with JAWS, Kurzweil 1000/3000 and other forms of assistive technology is a plus; Must have excellent organizational and customer service skills.  Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to clearly articulate content of exams verbatim. Demonstrated familiarity with higher education policies, including FERPA laws; demonstrated ability to multi-task and ability to work under deadline pressure; detail oriented self-starter, ability to work independently and as a team in a collaborative manner with students, staff and faculty; must be able to work with a diverse population and be able to stand and walk for extended periods while overseeing tests in a computer lab. Position requires a flexible schedule with occasional evening and weekend hours.
