The Sr. Maintenance Repairperson is responsible for performing a variety of carpentry and painting assignments, all types of repairs for the various locations, tile work, new construction; occasional electrical and plumbing work; installs and repairs hardware and building components; operates power tools; assists in the removal of snow and ice from walkways and roads; maintains inventory, follows appropriate safety procedures; assists in preparing College facilities for special events; moving offices and furniture, installation of drop ceilings and shelving; performs additional tasks and/or duties as assigned.
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent including vocational or technical school education, or a relevant apprenticeship is required. Must have three years’ related experience with a variety of maintenance functions and have the ability to use the computer; Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification required or wiliness to obtain. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position including climbing stairs and ladders, bending and kneeling; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; must be able to lift objects overhead, use volt meters, wrenches, and other hand and power tools; must be able to work in unconditioned confined spaces in hot and cold climates; ability to operate vacuums and high and low speed floor machines. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Valid Driver’s License and the ability to drive in the State of New Jersey is required. Must be able to work a rotating shift any day of the week and work with a diverse population.
