Student Leadership Commons Generalist (Part-time Position) – Revised

The Student Leadership Commons Generalist will supervise the Student Leadership Commons area. This position reports directly to the Coordinator of Student Development and responsibilities will include but are not limited to managing student staff; providing information regarding student organizations and events; facilitating event support requests and poster/publicity requests; assisting with management of Information Desk including supervision and scheduling of student desk attendants and providing general College information in support of student desk attendants;  preparing and presenting workshops to various student groups; assisting in major College events such as Orientation and Commencement; chaperoning off-campus trips; general office coverage and other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree. Experience in the Student Affairs field; Experience with event coordination in a college environment preferred; Must possess a strong level of organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; Strong public speaking/presentation skills; Must be driven to provide excellent customer service with ability to handle inquiries of diverse and multicultural students, staff, faculty and visitors with sensitivity and diplomacy; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment doing multiple tasks and projects while attending to the immediate needs of members of the campus community; Must be a detail oriented, self-starter with ability to work independently with little to no supervision and as a team in a collaborative manner; Must have ability to exercise good judgment, make routine decisions, as well as, ability to understand and follow established protocols; Must have computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Position requires a flexible schedule with occasional evening and weekend hours.
