Coaching Opportunity: Assistant Women’s Softball Coach (Part-time Position)

The part-time Assistant Women’s Softball Coach will assist the head coach managing the daily operations pertaining to the NJCAA Division III/Region XIX/GSAC Women’s Softball Team.  The assistant coach will report to, and work with, the head softball coach to further the institutional goals of the college. The individual must demonstrate the ability to lead a program with longstanding tradition of excellence in both athletics and academics with integrity and energy.  Must be available all day on weekends when team travels.  During the week, practices are in the late afternoon.


Certified Athletic Trainer

The certified athletic trainer will be able to demonstrate an ability to perform the following functions regarding athletic injuries: prevention, assessment, treatment, (including first aide) and reconditioning as set forth by the NATA Board of certification.  The athletic trainer will demonstrate proper taping, strapping, bracing, and fitting of athletic equipment.  The athletic trainer will maintain NATA and CPR certification in accordance with those respective institutions.   The athletic trainer will cover athletic games, events or matches, and related events under the supervision of the managing director of athletics. The athletic trainer must demonstrate knowledge of the principals of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the athlete’s status and interpret the appropriate information.  The athletic trainer will inventory, maintenance and control equipment. Must be available for afternoon/evening/weekend (these hours may fluctuate depending on need). Unattended hours (lunch, dinner, equipment set-up, etc.) must be posted.  Schedules athlete treatment and/or other intervention as necessary and established.  Maintains awareness of current policies and procedures.  Maintains injury data information in proper order and reported in pre-assigned time frame.  Determination of an athlete’s physical readiness to participate.  Knowledge of legal requirements and rules of the athletic event. Works confidently in crisis or emergency situation.  Uses assigned athletic training equipment safely and efficiently.  Prepares athlete for treatment and insures comfort and safety of athletes.  Maintains statistics and injury logs as established.  Prevents/corrects problems or unsafe conditions.  Maintains level of skill and expertise consistent with the latest theory and techniques.


HVAC Mechanic C

Bergen Community College is seeking an HVAC Mechanic “C” stands watch. The HVAC Mechanic “C” operates all HVAC equipment, making minor repairs and adjustments as required and calls for assistance as necessary. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Learning locations of all HVAC equipment and how they relate to each building.
  • Learning operation of BAS systems to operate independently.
  • Aiding and assisting in operation, repairs and maintenance of the HVAC equipment and controls to operate independently; knowledge and experience operating, repairing and maintaining the HVAC equipment and controls according to manufacturer’s specifications, i.e. valves, motors, belts, bearings, filter, and lubrication preferred. Includes the following: BAS system operation; HVAC water pumps; Water analysis and chemical treatments; Air compressors, Pneumatic, electrical, digital and mechanical controls; Refrigeration, heating, cooling and ventilating equipment; Filter, condenser, cooling towers, evaporators and heat exchangers.
  • Making rounds of all equipment rooms identifying and reporting any potential problems and keeps the systems and rooms clean.
  • Maintaining and reviewing log entries; ability to prepare written reports as appropriate preferred.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of department spaces.
  • Escorting outside contractors/vendor for repairs and maintenance of HVAC systems; experience working with outside contractors/vendors in repair and/or maintenance of HVAC systems preferred.
  • Experience installing electric power, piping, controls and duct work to replace, maintain or to install new equipment preferred.
  • Experience preparing lists of materials required to maintain inventory and complete projects preferred.
  • Following sound safety procedures at all times. Must wear protective equipment as needed (i.e., eye glasses, gloves, hard hat, coveralls).
  • Performing additional tasks or duties as assigned.

Human Resources Generalist

Bergen Community College, the No. 1 institution in New Jersey for associate degree graduates four years in a row, serving a diverse student body on its suburban campus, has an opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join our team.  At the direction of the Assistant Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist provides independent, full-service professional HR support for assigned division(s)/department(s) in the areas of employee relations, talent acquisition, talent management, engagement/retention of staff, training, compensation/benefits administration, communications, and payroll.  Assists with the development, prioritization and execution of multiple HR and College initiatives aimed at supporting talent acquisition, performance management, development, and engagement/retention of staff. Adheres to terms of labor contracts by monitoring day-to-day implementation of policies and practices concerning all related personnel matters. Serves as backup to other HR Generalists.

One-Stop Associate (Part-time Position)

The part-time Registration and One-Stop Assistant will provide administrative support to ensure the successful workflow of the Student Services Department. Duties will include assisting students regarding registration activities, performing various clerical duties such as answering a high volume of phone calls, organizing and maintaining files, updating student records, graduation support, assisting with grade roster distribution, performing basic accounting and purchasing functions, preparing correspondence and reports, as well as, handling general inquiries and other duties as assigned.

School Nurse (Per Diem)

Bergen Community College has opportunities for Registered Nurses (Per Diem) to cover for vacations and conferences. We are looking to create a pool of candidates who are flexible with their schedules that we can contact when the need arises. The Health Services Office is currently open: Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am – 6:00 pm Friday, 8:30 am – 3:00 pm

The Nurse will provide basic medical care/first aid for emergencies on campus, provide health information and/or health counseling and assist with tracking immunization requirements for students, especially for those enrolled in Nursing and Health Professions and/or assist in sport physical clearance.

Web Advising Enrollment Generalist (Part-time Position)

The part-time Web Advising Enrollment Generalist will provide assistance in a broad subject matter pertaining to Finance, Registration and Financial Aid (FA).


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Understanding all aspects of Self-Service via Student Planning and Colleague including searching for classes, add/drop, transcripts, 1098T, inquiries regarding tuition refund, planning courses, bill payment, payment plans, Finance, FA inquiries via Student Planning, Verification of Enrollment, FA Verification, Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) inquiries, batch evaluation updates, seat deletes, financial aid credit verification discrepancies, etc;
  • Assisting students with online activities including applying to the College online, accepting loans and steps for Financial verification, create Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) ID, complete Master Promissory Note (MPN) and FA Exit Interview, interpreting ACCUPLACER placement and test score, assist students with locating and replenishing Reg., FA and Bursar related forms;
  • Assisting special student populations such as American Language Program, (ALP), Summer Intensive, (SI), Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) and Office of Specialized Services (OSS) with registration and financial aid;
  • Providing additional support for One Stop during peak times;
  • Assisting students with troubleshooting and maintenance of Q-Nomy in addition to navigating the Q-Nomy process, ie, rerouting between departments, inquiries regarding Q-Nomy Kiosk, registration, financial aid, bursar and advising;
  • Providing evening and weekend coverage/special events;
  • Providing support for the Dean’s suite, i.e., assist with special projects as assigned by the Deans and provide coverage for Dean’s reception area in addition to other duties as assigned.

Instructor for ESL – Continuing Education/Health Professions (Part-time Position)

The Part-Time Instructor (ESL- CE/Health Professions) will plan and facilitate ESL lessons designed to train English Language learners in professional workplace acumen and foundational healthcare knowledge. Ideal candidates will have experience working in the healthcare industry and teaching adult ESL students. This position reports to the Associate Dean of CE/Health Professions and works collaboratively with CE staff as required to ensure student performance is monitored and reported.
